How frail is the nature of tolerance? What are we truly when our veneer of civilisation is peeled away to reveal our atavistic impulses? Directed by Martin Kušej, one of Europe’s most renowned directors, and performed by Paolo Pierobon, Fausto Russo Alesi, Anna Della Rosa, Esther Elisha, Disgraced (2013 Pulitzer Prize), is a single act by Ayad Akhtar, who explores the issues of freedom of speech, ambition and the need to feel integrated in the West where social and cultural tensions are exploding.
