Marat - Sade
In a production of great stylistic rigour, structured around the score of Antonio Vivaldi's The Four Seasons, from The Trial of Harmony and Invention, Opus 8, performed masterfully by the Orchestra Europa Galante, directed by Fabio Biondi, Marat-Sade, directed by Walter Le Moli, is a reflection on such central themes as madness and power, dictatorial indulgence and freedom. With an extraordinary cast of actors who have the demanding task of playing multiple roles, Marat-Sade under the direction of Le Moli forms part of the great tradition of Italian musical theatre, and reveals the absolute contemporary and universal power of one of the finest plays of the Twentieth century.
