For his much-anticipated return to the Turin stage, Davide Livermore directs the intense rivalry between Mary Stuart, Queen of Scots, and her cousin Elizabeth of England, the former a prisoner of the latter. Schiller’s drama, written at the end of the 18th century, transforms this challenge for the crown into a confrontation expressed at several different emotional levels (from envy to martyrdom, from insult to prayer). It is a brutal struggle to shape the future course not only of England but also of Europe and the world. Two extraordinary leading ladies, Elisabetta Pozzi and Laura Marinoni, will alternate roles every evening, and will be accompanied by Gaia Aprea, Linda Gennari, Giancarlo Judica Cordiglia, Olivia Manescalchi and Sax Nicosia.<\/p>\n
