The play is an ideal generational passing of the torch that commemorates the tragedy of the Holocaust through the power of a chorus of youthful voices.\u00a0Peter Weiss\u00a0wrote the play after attending the historic trial against a group of SS members and officials of the Auschwitz concentration camp. Close to 500 witnesses were heard during the trial, 248 of whom were chosen from the 1500 survivors.
