This 1750 play draws cruel laughter from the audience as it follows the typical dawn to dusk day of Florindo, a young member of the bourgeoisie who is utterly addicted to gambling and has no real horizons.\u00a0Goldoni\u00a0skilfully portrays his social relationships – girlfriends, true and false friends, servants, exploiters and pimps – and habits, knowing full well the psychology of a gambling addict and mercilessly revealing all his psychological workings and snares. It is an entertaining version of little-performed comedy by the great Venetian playwright. The production is directed and performed by\u00a0Roberto Valerio\u00a0and\u00a0Alessandro Averone, Mimosa Campironi, Massimo Grig\u00f2, Alvia Reale, Nicola Rignanese\u00a0and\u00a0Luigi Tabita.<\/p>\n
