Leonardo Lidi, an associate director of the TST, presents the last work by Russian author Chekhov. The play, written shortly before the Russian Revolution, portrays significant social change and the liberation of serfs from wealthy landowners. It also poignantly examines the bourgeoisie’s struggle to adapt to the ever-changing present. The director invites the audience into a garden\/theatre that now only exists in the memories of its actors and brings together a talented cast (Giordano Agrusta, Maurizio Cardillo, Alfonso De Vreese, Ilaria Falini, Christian La Rosa, Angela Malfitano, Francesca Mazza, Orietta Notari, Mario Pirrello, Tino Rossi, Massimiliano Speziani, and Giuliana Vigogna) to perform a bitter comedy that serves as a metaphor for the theatre.<\/p>\n
