Two friends, Tito and Carlino, vie for the affection of Melina\u2014a former prostitute, now pregnant, with no certainty as to the father. The news of this unwanted pregnancy creates a rift between the two men, both unable to take responsibility.\u00a0Crude arguments of jealousy and possession erupt, disregarding Melina\u2019s needs and treating her as an object. But the young woman stands her ground\u2014with dignity and emotional strength.
