The Teatro Stabile di Torino is certified UNI ISO 20121:2013, the international management standard for sustainable event organization—an acknowledgment of our commitment to the environment that surrounds us.

Here is our commitment to a more sustainable theatre:

  • Reducing climate-altering emissions
  • Implementing procurement procedures for goods and services that promote virtuous, circular production and consumption models, aimed at increasing employment across the most sustainable supply chains
  • Maintaining high safety standards for both workers and audiences
  • Adopting transparent administrative and management processes
  • Providing qualified employment for artists and technicians
  • Enacting inclusive policies for all segments of the population

FOR THESE REASONS:

  • Thanks to NextGenerationEU funding, all our venues now benefit from:
    • Photovoltaic systems (since September 2023 we have produced 40 MWh of electricity—about a quarter of our total energy needs)
    • Hybrid heating systems with heat pumps
    • LED stage lighting equipment
    • Latest-generation climate control and energy monitoring systems
    • Upgraded air handling units
  • Electricity supplies sourced from 100% renewable energy
  • Careful monitoring of natural resource use (water, electricity, gas)
  • Procurement practices that meet the environmental requirements set by the Ministry for Ecological Transition and comply with Minimum Environmental Criteria (CAM)
  • A workplace health and safety management system compliant with UNI ISO 45001:2018
  • Full respect for national collective labor agreements signed by the most representative employers’ and workers’ associations

We are also deeply committed to engaging our community through:

  • Discounted ticket prices and free access for low-income citizens via the Un posto per tutti initiative
Workshops and outreach activities in local civic centers across the City of Turin
  • Guided tours of our two historic venues: Teatro Carignano and Teatro Gobetti
Educational programs for schools and initiatives that promote and protect the TST’s historical and archival heritage
  • Our theatres and performances are made accessible both architecturally and by addressing invisible barriers.
All printed promotional materials found in our venues use FSC-certified paper (Forest Stewardship Council).

AT THE THEATRE, HOWEVER, EVERYONE MUST DO THEIR PART

That’s why we invite you—whenever possible—to join us on this journey in support of our planet. Sometimes, just a few simple actions can make a big difference:

  • Use the recycling bins available in our foyers
  • Help reduce water waste where taps are not yet sensor-activated
  • Travel to our venues by public transport or using shared mobility services
  • Avoid printing your tickets—take advantage of digital solutions
  • Scan the QR codes in our foyers or use our Apps to download programme notes
  • Our season brochures are printed in a limited number of copies—if you take one, please keep it and, when no longer needed, recycle it properly
  • The theatre belongs to everyone—just like our planet.
  • Help us along our path toward sustainability.
