This Peter Shaffer play was awarded the Tony Award for Best Play on its stage debut, and in 1984 became a cult film directed by Miloš Forman, winning eight Academy Awards. Today, the story of the Mozart–Salieri rivalry and the silent yet ruthless revenge of the aging composer against the young genius returns to the stage in a new production, directed by Ferdinando Bruni and Francesco Frongia, and enriched by the sumptuous costumes of Antonio Marras. Giving voice to the characters in this drama are Bruni himself, along with Daniele Fedeli, Valeria Andreanò, Riccardo Buffonini, Matteo de Mojana, Alessandro Lussiana, Ginestra Paladino, Umberto Petranca, and Luca Toracca.
