No character has become such a powerful and charismatic icon over time, transforming into a symbol of theatre itself, quite like Hamlet. There is no greater challenge for actors and directors than to interpret or stage the story of the Prince of Elsinore—bearing the weight of his questions and, above all, of every possible answer. Hamlet is all of us, because his doubt reflects the very essence of our humanity. For this reason, it felt only natural to open the 2025/26 season, Being Human, with Shakespeare’s masterpiece—and for this production, with which the Teatro Stabile di Torino will celebrate its 70th anniversary, to be entrusted to resident director Leonardo Lidi. With a contemporary visual language and a minimalist set, this staging aspires—through the power of theatre—to become a true “trap” for the king and for any blind lust for power. Featuring Mario Pirrello, Nicola Pannelli, Rosario Lisma, Ilaria Falini, Giuliana Vigogna, Christian La Rosa, and Alfonso De Vreese.
