Inspired by the Apocryphal Gospels, this production blends narrative theatre and teatro-canzone, exploring the encounter between the human and the divine. While the landscapes of Jesus’ childhood are well known thanks to Dario Fo’s Mistero Buffo, far less familiar is Mary’s journey: a motherhood without choice and a fate of extraordinary contemporary relevance. In 1969, Fabrizio De André told this story in his album La Buona Novella, and today this performance revisits his songs, weaving them with original sources to create a timeless poetic journey.
