An old actor, surrounded by a dreamlike, ethereal atmosphere, finds himself reliving moments of his life during the half hour before stepping on stage to perform Strindberg’s The Storm. The soundtrack of a theatre coming to life outside his dressing room becomes both pretext and invitation—at times lighthearted, at times deeply moving—to wander through and even converse with the ghosts of his past. Orsini places his trust in Popolizio, like a veteran actor entrusting the discretion of the younger to tell fragments of his own life and the history of Italy from the postwar years to today.
