After three decades, Gabriele Vacis has returned to the saga of Oedipus’ bloodline, once again casting a company of young performers in the role of the crowd that fills the streets and squares of Thebes. Indeed, at the heart of this tragedy are the people who witness and comment on what is happening: a multitude of faces and voices that become the main characters and express public opinion. A multifaceted chorus whose invasive omnipresence succeeds in transforming any extraordinary event, however tragic, into a celebration or yet a market.
