Once again the Teatro Stabile di Torino and Torinodanza Festival are partners in the 2023 Season of Orsolina28, in Moncalvo (AT), which will give space to artists who use the body, movements, the word and music, experiencing very differently languages and poetics. Here are the events realised in collaboration with Orsolina28 Art Foundation:

WILL SANTT – THE NEW AND OLD BOSSA NOVA

@TheEye – Saturday, May 13,  8.00 pm | Doors open at 7.30 pm (Parking A) – Cocktail in our lemon tree Greenhouse from 6.00 pm

Will Santt, the new bossa nova talent, is the emerging artist of the Brazilian music scene. The singer-songwriter and multi-instrumentalist who emerged interpreting classics by João Gilberto, Tom Jobim, Caetano Veloso and Gilberto Gil, has been getting over more and more listeners and followers with his reinterpretations and his own songs. A phenomenon on social networks, Will Santt rescues in his musicality an aesthetic full of roots and references from the artists who revolutionized Brazilian popular music, with a modern touch and a smooth singing, bringing an experience of contemporary bossa nova that’s worth living. The young artist, only 21 years old, is already on his first tour of Europe, leaving nostalgia wherever he plays.

THE BATSHEVA ENSEMBLE – KAMUYOT BY OHAD NAHARIN

@TheEye – Wednesday, May 31, 8.00 pm | Doors open at 7.30 pm (Parking A) – Cocktail in our lemon tree Greenhouse from 6.00 pm

Kamuyot touches on the mischievous, free, and playful places in all kids – whether they are 5 or 80 years old.
At the heart of the show stands a simple invitation – to dance. Breaking away from the traditional theater hall, the show also liberates the audience. A hand’s reach from the dancers, over 50 minutes with no clear boundaries, connections are weaved between the dancers and the audience, formulating a language that seems like it has always been there. An inspiring and moving experience that allows the audience “to be with” dance and not only watch it.

Show + Dinner (Parking A) – Cocktail in our lemon tree Greenhouse from 6.30 pm

“Decadance is where we celebrate our repertoire, the playground in which we add or subtract and adapt pieces from our body of work. It is an opportunity to look at our work from different angles. More than anything, I love how Deca-dance allows the dancers to give their own interpretation, which is full of sublime moments.” – Ohad Naharin

Concerto a sorpresa is a much-loved format that has always engaged and excited the audience. The programme remains secret and is only revealed during the evening through an engaging and entertaining interaction with the audience. The conductor emeritus Gianandrea Noseda, close to the performance of the pieces, provides the listeners with some suggestions such as a historical or territorial background, technical notions or simply a brief description of the piece and then, after listening, reveals or confirms its author and title. Each surprise concert represents a journey of a cultural, geographical and above all emotional nature, a way of broadening horizons, setting aside any prejudices, finding the beautiful in the unexpected and the surprising in the discovery. A list of the pieces performed is distributed as you leave the hall at the end of the evening.
