The actor, performer and author Matthias Martelli, makes his return to the Gobetti. Directed by Emiliano Bronzino and accompanied by cellist Lucia Sacerdoni, his acclaimed production revisits the life of Dante Alighieri. From childhood to exile, from political engagement to love, the great poet’s biography is set against the backdrop of verses from La Vita Nova (The New Life) and La Divina Commedia (Divine Comedy), all of which combine to create the literary portrait of a complex man, marked by his many hopes and conflicts, surprisingly unlike his traditional iconographic portrayal.
