David Copperfield Sketch Comedy is a satirical/grotesque reinterpretation of Dickens’ masterpiece. The events of the celebrated novel, published between 1849 and 1850, are combined in a fantastic theatrical saraband, giving life to something resembling a fast-paced and relentless “merry-go-round”. The universal topics that immortalised this story of redemption emerge from the twists and turns of this 19th-century narrative. In Marco Isidori’s view, these topics can be truly reflected only through the mirror of the theatre.
