Lithuanian Oskaras Koršunovas, a leading name of the international theatre scene, presented his Tartuffe as an arrogant communications czar, at the last Avignon Festival. With an imposing, maze-like setting, and cameras that expose stage and backstage details, the performance speaks of the false idols of our societies, and denounces social climbers for their use of manipulation or corruption to achieve their goals.
