The French Revolution affected all of Europe in 1789, changing and reshaping the world around new ideals. But what remains of it today? With their cutting and ironic style, Elvira Frosini and Daniele Timpano, together with Marco Cavalcoli, attempt to answer this question while mocking the cultural apparatus of the West with all its symbols and rhetoric. Past and present, French history and Italian history, modernity and postmodernity overlap and challenge our ‘democratic’ lives and the imaginary we have attached to the concept of revolution. The show was awarded the “Franco Quadri” special mention at the Premio Riccione 2019 and the Premio UBU 2022 as Best Italian Play. It also earned Marco Cavalcoli the Premio Ubu as Best Actor.
